'I'd never seen Lisa cry' - Jeremy Clarkson opens up about Clarkson's Farm's most emotional moment yet

Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about Clarkson Farm’s most emotional moments so far.

The Grand Tour star’s farming show debuted its third series’ first four episodes on Prime Video today (3rd May).

Despite the fact Jeremy and his partner Lisa Hogan have been through a lot since starting life on Diddly Squat Farm, both of the show’s stars admitted during a press event for the show that series three ended up featuring their most difficult experience yet.

During the series, Jeremy decides to introduce pigs to the farm as part of his desire to make some money off of the farm’s “unfarmable” land, but tragedy occurs when several piglets end up crushed by their own mothers, and one of the farm’s sows also falls ill.

Speaking at a Q&A about Clarkson’s Farm season three, Jeremey told virginradio.co.uk and other press: “I’ve always liked pigs, my mother used to buy me toy pigs every Christmas and birthday ‘til I was in my 20s… so I’ve always been fond of pigs and I thought it would be fun to have them.

“Then they just died in alarming numbers, and it was very heartbreaking,” he added sadly. “I’ve never ever seen Lisa cry once, ever, until that all started unfolding. It was just terrible.”

Reflecting on the period of time last year in which the farm was hit by several piglet fatalities, Jeremy said: “We’re a bit stronger dealing with it now, but it was a very heartbreaking time last March.”

In an effort to reduce heartbreak in the future, the TV presenter also revealed series four will likely feature an exploration of how he has been working with others to engineer better homes for the pigs at Diddly Squat to try and reduce the chance of piglets being crushed in the future.

“By and large, [the pig farming] is now going quite well,” Jeremy revealed at the April event. 

Clarkson’s Farm series three episodes 1-4 are available to watch now on Prime Video. Episodes 5-8 will drop on 10th May.
