Great British Bake Off's youngest ever contestant Martha Collison welcomes baby boy and reveals unique name

The Great British Bake Off's youngest ever baker Martha Collison has announced the happy news that she's finally given birth to her own 'overbaked' baby boy.

The 2014 Bake Off star, who was just 17 years old when she wowed former judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, told followers on Instagram: "My sunshine is here. Our little Kenny arrived last Saturday afternoon, 9 days overbaked and weighing 8lb 4oz.

"Kenaniah Jude, you've changed our whole world and we are so grateful you are ours."

The former show chef at Virgin Radio UK and cookbook author shared on her Instagram Stories: "Beyond thankful for this little blessing - our family is growing."

Former GBBO contestants commented on her delightful news. Jane Beedle wrote: "Huge congratulations Martha. He is just gorgeous."

Rowan Claughton seconded: "Congratulations."

Winner of Martha's 2014 series, Nancy Birtwhistle, wrote: "Yay - beautiful Martha."

Frances Quinn, who won Bake Off in 2013, added: "Oh Martha, congratulations lovely am so happy for you and Michael and the whole family!

"You’re going to be the most wonderful Mum and sending so much love and hugs Xx".

MasterChef semi-finalist Nisha Parmar wrote: "Oh my goodness!!! Martha!! That's the best bun you've ever cooked!!! So happy for you both!! Congratulations."

Series nine quarter-finalist Manon Lagrève commented: "Awwww yay!!!! This is the best news!!!!! Our babies are due at similar time."

The star tied the knot with partner Michael Haywood in 2019 and bakers Nancy Birtwhistle, Richard Burr, Chetna Makan, Claire Goodwin, Iain Watters, Enwezor Nzegwu, Diana Beard and Kate Henry were all present for their big day.
